Research and Development
The Deaf Academy is leading on research and development in the SEND and Deaf area as well as research into multi model approaches. Our research and development lead at the Deaf Academy is Matt Jenkins. Matt has worked for the Deaf Academy since 2011 and is a QToD. He completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education at the University of Exeter, focusing on sign language orthography.
If you are interested in working with the Deaf Academy on research, please complete the research and development form and email it to mjenkins@thedeafacademy.ac.uk. The proposal will be reviewed by members of the Research and Development Working Group. They will wish to gain a clear understanding of your proposed research topic and existing knowledge. We will also consider the suitability of the project in relation to Deaf Education and how it will be beneficial to the Academy.
