A heartfelt thank you to our community and Tesco customers for supporting our new play area appeal through the store’s Stronger Starts scheme.
This week, we were delighted to welcome Lisa O’Shaughnessy, Community Champion from the Exmouth Tesco branch, to celebrate raising an incredible £1,500. This generous contribution—made possible by customers choosing our cause with their blue tokens—will help us transform an underused space into a vibrant, sensory-rich environment for our Deaf students with additional complex needs.
The Stronger Starts programme is delivered in partnership with Groundwork UK to help young people to thrive physically and mentally. Lisa said: “At Tesco, we take pride in supporting our local community, our customers and the Deaf Academy. We’re always happy to lend a helping hand in promoting equality and accessibility for our community.”
We’re truly grateful for this support and excited about the positive changes ahead for our students. If you would like to support our ongoing appeal, you can donate via our JustGiving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/sensoryplayarea
